System Architect
Responsibilities
  • Design and establish datacenter-centric systems architecture and execute its implementation.
  • Develop architectural designs for systems including servers, storage, fiber channels, power, cooling, racks, space, and cloud workload migration.
  • Specialize in transforming airport security systems, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and failover capabilities.
  • Demonstrate expert-level knowledge in implementing solutions across all layers of the OSI 7 model.
  • Utilize strong documentation, collaboration, and presentation skills to effectively communicate and persuade IT and business leaders regarding design approaches, considering architectural and cost trade-offs.
  • Implement systems with a deep understanding of intrinsic security principles related to systems and datacenters.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to establish technical requirements, advisory councils, incident response teams, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Report to the Chief Information Officer and Deputy Vice President Chief Technology Officer.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of ten years' experience in network design, infrastructure architecture, analysis, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments, including Windows Server up to 2016, and MS Active Directory.
  • Experience in VMware Infrastructure and vSphere administration.
  • Competence in Linux server administration.
  • Strong skills in system design, architecture, and engineering.
  • In-depth knowledge of various operating systems (Windows, Linux), network protocols, server hardware, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.
  • Advanced scripting and programming abilities (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and customization.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
  • Comprehensive understanding of data center infrastructure, design, architecture, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with data center migration, including planning, execution, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with hybrid or cloud-native data center solutions using cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, containerization).
  • Expertise in data center security, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
  • Strong project management skills for leading data center migration and operational projects.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools for efficient data center operations.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with GitLab CI/CD and integration with AWS EKS.
  • Administration, maintenance, and upgrading of AWS EKS and RDS.
  • Proficiency in AWS security services and advanced networking.
  • Strong Python scripting abilities.
